The Anatomy of a Great Baby Gift + An Easy DIY

When it comes to gifting, we like to make it a full experience all wrapped up in a fab package. And when it came time to shower Stephanie with goodies for sweet little Nora, that gift extravaganza was all about pink with flamingos taking center stage. Have a look at the anatomy of a great baby gift which can easily be substituted with accessories that fit the gift recipient. Oh and a fun DIY too!

For this gift, we knew that Stephanie planned on infusing a pink flamingo theme to Nora’s nursery so we set out to scout items both practical and some purely fun that would play to this theme and also give us that oh my goodness this is the tiniest, cutest little piece of clothing I’ve ever seen fix. Find all the items tucked away in this bag of treats below plus some of our favorite sources for like minded pieces.

Materials
Canvas tote bag
Iron transfer paper
Scissors
Iron
Flamingo template

instructions
step-1 Download and print the Flamingo template onto iron transfer paper, according to package instructions. The illustration is already reversed, so you don’t need to worry about that.

step-1 Cut out the illustration, removing as much of the excess white space as possible.

step-2 Iron the tote bag to remove any wrinkles. Empty the iron of water and turn off the steam. Place the illustration face down in the center of the tote bag and cover with a thin dishtowel.

step-3 Press the iron over the dishtowel-covered illustration for 30 seconds at a time until the image is attached to the tote. Let cool and gently peel up a corner of the backing to make sure the image is in place. If some peels up with the backing, just replace the backing and press it with iron for a few more seconds.

step-4 Remove the backing and fill the tote with some of your favorite flamingo goodies!
